The Mrigashira Nakshatra is the fifth among the 27 Nakshatras in Vedic Astrology. ‘Mrigashira’ means ‘Deer Head’, and it is a tender (Saumya) Nakshatra. A deer is regarded as a lunar animal which is swift, freckle, wandering, seeking, and searching, and hence Mrigashira is a searching Nakshatra.
